Become a Driving
Instructor
At Drive North East we offer flexible,
affordable training courses to suit all budgets, to train
our own driving instructors. Our training is designed to fit
around a current job and/or personal commitments.
There are 3 tests to sit and training would normally take
6/7 weeks on the run up to each test or around 18 to 24
weeks in total.
Part 1: Theory. Theory test of 100 multiple choice
questions, followed by the hazard perception test,
containing 14 video clips. Questions are based upon Highway
Code and subjects include road procedure, car control, etc.
Part 2: Driving Ability. Your chance
to demonstrate that you can drive to a high standard for
approx. 1 hour. A total of 6 minor faults is allowed.
Part 3: Instruction Techniques. This
test lasts for 1 hour, during which the examiner role plays
2 learners: the first of which has either never driven a car
or has very little experience, the second is a pupil nearer
to test standard. You are assessed on your ability to
instruct, correct mistakes and your general manner.
At Drive North East we aim to find you a suitable method of
paying for your course. We have several different methods of
payment including pay as you go training, career development
loans or monthly instalments.
